Western Horse in Palomino with Clock
Released in 1950 with a Mastercrafter clock. The horse measures about 10-1/8" high and is a glossy palomino (mane & tail are tan but that's what Breyer called the color). The base is about 1/8" high x 17" x 4-5/8", and is made of brown marbled plastic. The clock frame apppears to be painted metal, with a Sessions movement. The cord and plug appear to be original. He has box-link chain reins, round conchos and gold trim on his bridle/breastcollar. Photo/information provided by Dorothy Jacobs.

Western Horse in Alabaster (#)
The horse measures about 10-1/8" high and is a glossy white plastic. He has dark facial shading and sort of a reddish/brown/grey shading on his mane and tail. (NOTE: The horse was very dirty when I got it. I've cleaned him very carefully, but I don't want to mess with the mane/tail because I'm not sure what is dirt and what is shading, and the finish can be very fragile on these older models) He has box-link chain reins, round conchos with gold centers, and an otherwise unpainted bridle/breastcollar. The saddle is brown plastic and has gold trim. The girth has a slip-buckle. Also included is a felt saddle pad, it is stained and very dirty around the edges, but it may be original. Breyer originally designed these horses for use on the clocks in 1950 and used the mold for their first production model, so this is definitely an early example.
