This Gallery is not showcasing her Franklin Mint pieces, but instead goes back many years, to a time before she started doing porcelains. In the 1970's, Pamela sculpted, cast, and hand-painted very slender, finely boned latex rubber models called Rydals which had silky hair manes and tails. These models are hollow and were stuffed with wood shavings and saw dust, usually stuffed through the neck before the mane was fitted. The legs are supported by the addition of wire. Although only 200 of these delicate pieces were created, they made Pamela famous. Unlike any others, these beautiful, wispy horses are absolutely unique and extremely rare and hard to find.
