Lucas Francis Saucy in Chestnut
Chestnut grade draft mare. Glazed by Joan Berkwitz. Joan describes this piece: This TEST Saucy dates from the very earliest days of Pour Horse. She was from the original early run, before I really knew how to airbrush! She's a solid, unshaded chestnut with a grey muzzle and lighter sorrel lower legs, and grey hooves. This Saucy is a test for a matte glaze, and the glaze turned silvery. Matte glazes are very difficult to do, and particularly when you don't know what you are doing at all, they are very likely to turn on you. So this little gal is silvery in her contours. She has tri-eyes, and a plain blue ribbon. She is marked with the OLD rubber stamp, which is round and says 'Pour Horse" but is otherwise undated. I only used this stamp on a few horses, it was unreliable and not terribly readable. For collectors of Pour Horse, this is a great horse to have, she is truly unique. She's the only matte test on the original color.
Chaney Boxing Shrie in bay roan sabino
Bay roan sabino Clydesdale stallion. Glazed by Joan Berkwitz. Joan describes this piece: This is an intensely detailed Boxing shire, a wildly roany sabino bay. The closer you look, the more you see! His eyes have more detail than shows in the photos... they have brown irises too.
Chaney Boxing Shrie in dapple grey tobiano
Dapple grey tobiano grade draft stallion. Glazed by Joan Berkwitz. Joan describes this piece: Fully detailed and with a very kind expression. His satin glaze shows off his dappling perfectly! Priced right to start off your show season!.
Chaney Boxing Shrie in palomino
Palomino grade draft stallion. Glazed by Joan Berkwitz. Joan describes this piece: This little Boxing Shire is intricately dappled under his warm palomino coat, and finished in an excellent satin glaze. His eyes are brown/black, and his base is painted to resemble brown soil. He just came out of the kiln and is ready to show! A very sweet expression.

Minkiewicz-Breunig Pixie in sooty dun tobiano
Sooty dun tobiano lightbreed foal, with dun factoring on her legs and indistinct shoulder striping. Created 2007. Her soft foal belly is a grey taupe, which runs down the insides of her legs, and her little muzzle shows tan pangare. She is signed by Sarah, and marked "1" since she is the very first piece to be cast and finished. She is also signed "JMB 2007" because Joan painted her. Lesli Kathman drew out the pattern for Joan.
Minkiewicz-Breunig Pixie in sooty dun with roaning
Sooty buckskin or dun roan, with soft roaning just frosting her hindquarters. Created 2007. She has a large white star, and her legs are barely beginning to color up. Her belly is a soft white-silver, showing off all of the hair texture. She has all four detailed leg chestnuts, the front ones just barely show under her hair. Her little muzzle has tan pangare, and highlights all of the lip and muzzle detail. This Pixie's glaze is sort of semi-matte, which really suits her well. She is signed by Sarah, and marked "3" since she is the third piece to be cast and finished. She is also signed "JMB 2007" because Joan painted her.
Minkiewicz-Breunig Lirico in White Grey
Marcherware matte white grey Lirico, who is only one of three in this color. Glazed by Joan Berkwitz.
Kathman Loki in White Grey
Bay silver dapple tobiano Icelandic Horse mare. Glazed by Joan Berkwitz. Joan describes this piece: Loki is a small Classic scale Icelandic Horse sculpted by Lesli Kathman, and issued in resin. Lesli and I made a run of them in about the year 2000, and this Loki is one that I kept for myself. Lesli did the pattern, and I airbrushed the color. She's a bay silver tobiano with some primitive marking expression on her legs, as ponies sometimes get. Her tobiano shows in minimal markings. One leg is white up into the shoulder, two legs are high white, one has a sock. She has a little bit of white peeking from under her mane on her right side. She has a pink nose too. Her forehead has a fuzzy swirl which is very sweet.
Sue Sifton Dollar in Dappled Rose Grey
Rose grey stock stallion. Glazed by Joan Berkwitz. Created 2007. Joan describes this piece: Karen Grimm is producing this gorgeous sculpture by Sue Sifton, a portrait of Karen's real Champion, Dollar. He is being offered in earthenware, as either bisques or custom glazed pieces. Karen came and visited recently here at Pour Horse, and we worked on this very first custom glazed piece on the Dollar bisque. This horse is dappled rose grey. He is finished in a satin glaze, which has a gentle semi-gloss finish and brings out his color beautifully. In person, he is slightly less rosy than these pictures look. His dapples were done in layers, in five bisque firings, to give soft edges and varied intensity to his coat. With beautiful, big tri-colored eyes and a dappled forehead, he is going to be very attractive and attention-getting in the showring. He is just under 6" tall to his eartips, and just a little longer than 10" from nose to tail..
Kristina Lucas Francis Constantine in bay roan sabino
Bay roan sabino lightbreed stallion. Glazed by Joan Berkwitz. Created 2008. Joan describes this piece: Kristina Lucas sculpted this Little Bit sized piece, called Constantine. I (Joanie Berkwitz) glazed him in a bay roan sabino, with lots of nice detail. He has tons of belly spotting and a very pretty face. Not very many glazed Constantines are out there, and this is the only one that I glazed. He has a lot of character and he's a very nice little piece.
Vajra
Grulla sabino grade gelding. Glazed by Joan Berkwitz. Image provided by Sarah Minkiewicz-Breunig; created 2008. Joan describes this piece: Here is Vajra. His name is the Indian word for the thunderbolt held by the God of Storms. He is a grulla sabino horse of unknown heritage. A feral gelding, foraging on his own, with a tangled mane and fly bumps on his skin.

Sarah Minkiewicz-Breunig leaping horse plaque in chocolate silver dapple
Sporthorse stallion. Glazed by Joan Berkwitz. Plaque is about 9.5 inches long and 6.75 inches high. Created 2007. Joan describes this piece: Sarah Minkiewicz-Breunig sculpted this large plaque and I have glazed two of them. This one is a chocolate silver with a blaze. It measures about 10" long, and has holes in the back for hanging. The background is black, which compliments the jumping horse. He is very detailed and has a lot of deep, rich shading. If you are a fan of Sarah's work, you will love this big guy. All guts and glory!
